Identify Your Cache
With Labels from Geocacher-U
Labeling your caches isn't just a matter of decoration, it's a good idea. The standard Army issue ammo box has long been considered to be the perfect cache container. It's durable, waterproof and just plain fun to open. But if you don't paint over the original identification stencils and use a sticker to identify it as a geocache you're just asking for trouble from someone who accidentally finds your cache. If your cache is accidentally found by someone who doesn't know about the game, what do you expect them to think when they read the words "10 Round Clips" and "Ammunition?"
By properly label your cache you not only defuse the suspicion of a strange container, you also identify the cache for curious finders who want to know more about the game.
Our standard cache sticker identifies you container as an "Official Geocache" and invites the curious to "Join the Game!" It also provides room for enough information for an accidental finder to locate the cache through the Geocaching.com website.

Part of the art of camouflage is misdirection. By identifying your cache as something familiar, the fear of the unfamiliar is removed. Our "Student Project" sticker does just that. The reality is, what is a geocache if not a test of "Navstar Satellite Accuracy?"
As with the others, this label is printed on 4mil vinyl using water and UV resistant inks, meaning no fading in the sun or bleeding in the rain. And at 3" x 5" it will fit a wide variety of container sizes.

MICRO-CACHE LABELS
|
These micro-cache labels measure 3 inches wide by 1 inch tall and come in a sheet of 10. Cut them apart and stick them to your 35 mm film canister. At $4.00 per sheet, that works out to just 40 cents per label. A substantial savings compared to other commercially available micro-cache labels.

Decon Labels
Little did the Army's engineers know when they designed the Decon Kit there were giving us the perfect small-sized cache container. The Decon container is small enough to fit a variety of locations, blends in well with its green (and sometimes black) color, mostly watertight and durable.
But like their big brothers, the ammo cans, the sticker the Army marked them with contains some very dangerous sounding words. On top of that (literally) is a molded plastic lid with words like "Caution" and "poisonous and caustic hazard" molded right in.
|
A piece of sandpaper will take the words of the lid quite nicely. Then you can replace the Army's label with our own geocache label laid out perfectly for decon containers. The label fits across the front and features the word GEOCACHE in bold yellow letters. The text underneath gives a quick explanation of this "world-wide scavenger hunt" and encourages accidental finders to play along. There's plenty of room for information about your cache and your contact info. The sticker wraps around the sides of the container and provides more information about the game and Internet links to learn more.
